Ingredients (to make ~3,000 kcal)

Please note: this recipe is not nutritionally complete on its own. To make it suitable for everyday feeding, we add Olli All-in-One Homemade Diet Supplement, which supplies calcium and essential vitamins and minerals that cannot be reliably provided by raw ingredients alone.

If you’re not using Olli, you would need to provide the missing nutrients yourself. Per 100 g of this recipe, that means adding approximately 1.3 g calcium, 0.07 g magnesium, 0.8 mg copper, 0.25 mg iodine, 1.16 mg manganese, 5 mg zinc, 13 IU vitamin D, 7 IU vitamin E, and 69 mg choline to meet minimum requirements.

Directions

  1. Cut the pork loin into small, even pieces suitable for your dog’s size.
  2. Dice the pork liver into small cubes.
  3. Optional) In a frying pan, heat one teaspoon of coconut oil over medium heat. Sear the pork and liver pieces for about a minute, just until lightly browned — they don’t need to be fully cooked. You can skip this step and add the raw meat directly to the slow cooker if you prefer.
  4. Finely chop the mushrooms. (Tip: for extra vitamin D, place them gills-up in the sun for about 20 minutes before cooking)
  5. Peel and slice the carrots.
  6. Soft-boil the eggs, let them cool, and remove the shells.
  7. Place the pork, liver, mushrooms, carrots, and eggs into a slow cooker or heavy-based pot.
  8. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.
  9. Cook on low heat for 6–8 hours, or until everything is soft and fully cooked.
  10. Allow the food to cool completely to room temperature. Once cooled, stir in the pre-measured Olli whole food supplement and mix until thoroughly combined. (Do not cook Olli as heat can degrade some of its nutrients.)
  11. Portion into containers. Refrigerate for up to 3–4 days or freeze in individual portions for later use.
