A quick stovetop duck and veggie recipe designed for adult and senior dogs. Made with energy-rich duck, nutrient-dense liver, sulforaphane-packed broccoli, turmeric, and balanced with Olli to meet FEDIAF guidelines. Ready in under 30 minutes and ideal for weekly meal prep.

***

Ingredients (to make ~1,000 kcal)

  • 270 g – Duck
  • 90 g – Broccoli
  • 70 g – Butternut squash
  • 70 g – Egg
  • 33 g – Olli All-in-One Homemade Diet Supplement
  • 25 g – Beef liver
  • 25 g – Sardines (canned in water, no salt)
  • 1–2 g – Ground turmeric
  • Water, as needed

Please note: this recipe is not nutritionally complete on its own. To make it suitable for everyday feeding, we add Olli All-in-One Homemade Diet Supplement, which supplies calcium and essential vitamins and minerals that cannot be reliably provided by raw ingredients alone.

If you’re not using Olli, you would need to provide the missing nutrients yourself. Per 100 g of this recipe, that means adding approximately 1.17 g calcium, 0.04 g magnesium, 0.24 mg iodine, 0.57 mg manganese, 10.8 mg zinc, 159 IU vitamin D, 4.3 IU vitamin E, and 87 mg choline to meet minimum requirements.

Directions

  1. Cut the duck, liver, broccoli, and butternut squash into evenly sized pieces.
  2. Add duck and liver to a pot and sauté on medium heat for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add the vegetables and turmeric.
  4. Pour in enough water to cover.
  5. Simmer for 15–20 minutes until everything is fully cooked and soft.
  6. Stir in the egg during the last 1–2 minutes of cooking.
  7. Remove from the heat and mix in the sardines.
  8. Allow the meal to cool completely.
  9. Stir in Olli. Alternatively, mix it with a bit of water and add it as a paste if you’d rather avoid the colour change.
  10. Portion into containers. Refrigerate 3–4 days or freeze for later use.
